The Phone System is a primarily Gesture and Contact based system. It is not Desktop Compatible for this reason.

Accessing the phone

To access the phone move one of your hands into the Storage Contact and make a Fist Gesture. To put away the phone move the hand holding the phone into the Storage Contact and make the HandOpen gesture.

Navigating the Phone

To navigate the phone simply touch the ‘App’ you want to access or hit the ‘Home’ Button if you want to exit out of an ‘App’ and return to the Home Screen.

Holding the ‘Home’ button for a couple of seconds will turn the screen off. To turn the screen back on touch where the home button was or the center of the screen where the apps are normally located.

These apps can also be accessed from the Apps menu of the phone’s radial menu.

Handling the Phone

The phone can be held in 4 different poses. These poses can be reached by making specific gestures with the hand holding the phone

Vertical - Accessed by making the FingerPoint Gesture. General Use Pose

Vertical Camera - Accessed by making the Victory Gesture. Same as Vertical Pose but moves the Phone up slightly so that the camera isn’t blocked by some avatar’s fingers

Horizontal - Accessed by making the HandGun Gesture. Generally used with the Gallery or ProTV ‘Apps’ when they have horizontal content

Horizontal Camera - Accessed by making the RockNRoll Gesture. Generally used for landscape shots with the camera, both selfie and regular.

The phone can also be dropped by making the HandOpen Gesture with the hand the phone is held in. To pick the Phone back up, make a fist near the phone.

You can also switch hands by making an HandOpen gesture with the hand holding the phone while holding your other hand near the phone and making any gesture other than HandOpen with that hand.

You can also change phone position through the Position menu of the Phone’s radial menu.

App Controls

Camera

To take a picture with the Camera app, make a Fist Gesture with the hand holding the phone and pull the trigger on that controller.

Once a picture has been taken, moving the built-in VRC Camera over the phone will override the image on the VRC Camera allowing you to save the photo. Note: this only seems to work for VR players. It may not work for Desktop Players
