The Flare Gun is primarily gesture based. Make sure you have gestures enabled in your radial menu in order to use it.
Navigate to the Flare Gun menu in your expressions menu and make sure the Enable toggle is active
You can grab the Flare Gun from it’s holster location by making a fist near the flare gun’s grip. This will put the Flare Gun in your hand. You can drop the flare gun by making an open hand gesture. making a Fist near the grip of the Flare Gun will pick it back up.
You can also select which hand to put the Flare Gun in through the Location sub-menu of the Flare Gun Menu.
To reload the Flare Gun make a Rocker(Rock n’ Roll) gesture with the hand holding the flare gun to break open the barrel. Then grab a flare from the flare holster and place it in the now exposed rear of the barrel. You can now snap the barrel closed by flicking your hand up or by grabbing the barrel and rotating it back into place.
To fire the Flare Gun grab the hammer at the rear of the gun and pull back until it makes a click noise to cock it. Then make a Fist with the hand holding the gun and pull the trigger.
You’ll need to unload the Flare Gun in order to reload it after Firing. To do so break open the barrel and tilt the barrel so that the spent flare loaded in the barrel slides out.
Barrel Extension - A cosmetic setting that adds a flared barrel extension to the end of the barrel. Does nothing else
Double Action - This setting makes it so that you don’t have to cock the hammer before firing. You can just pull the trigger and it does that for you.
Auto-Reload - Reloads a flare into the barrel a short time after you empty the barrel
Sticky Hands - Makes it so that you can’t drop the flare gun unless through the location sub-menu
Quest Controls - Switches the Rocker and Fist gestures for firing and breaking open the barrel (Rocker to fire, Fist to open the barrel). This should make the weapon feel more natural to use on Quest controllers.
