To use the Contact Tester make sure the ‘Enabled’ toggle is enabled in the Contact Tester’s Main Menu
To grab the Tester put a hand in the Holster contact, by default this should be behind your back, and make any gesture other than Open Hand in that hand to grab it. To put it back put your hand holding it in the holster contact and make an Open Hand gesture. You can also drop the tester in the world by making an Open Hand gesture while holding the tester. You can also use the Position menu
To use the tester put a contact in the testing antenna (the square with a hole in it at the top of the tester) and see what boxes on the tester light up. You may have to try different Contact Sets from the Tester Menu. The boxes that light up indicate a contact with that tag has entered the testing area.
The Contact Tester comes with 4 Contact Sets to test from
Body Parts - A VRC Official set which contains all the tags under VRC’s BodyParts group in the Contact Tag dropdown
Object Traits - A VRC Official set which contains all the tags under VRC’s ObjectTraits group in the Contacts Tag dropdown.
Community - A set of tags made by the community. Mainly from the VRCWiki though others were sourced on Social Media.
Custom - A set which you can use to test your own contact tags by modifying the FX for this asset. See the Modification Guide for more info.
Sticky Hands - Makes it so you cannot drop the lighter in the world by making an open hand while holding the lighter.
Drop to Holster - Dropping the lighter will always return it back to the holster instead of dropping it in the world.
Disable Handling Contacts - disables the handling contacts. Useful if you keep accidently grabbing the tester when you don’t want to.
